I am a firm believer that we are engineered (created by God) for greatness but we are programmed or conditioned for failure.

I heard a story a few years back. There was this big forest fire and thousands of acres of forest were destroyed. A group of volunteers came upon a young Grizzly bear cub that had lost its mother in the fire.

The volunteers decided to take the cub home and care for it. The only problem was they had no real knowledge on how to raise a bear but they were determined to do their best. They decided to put the bear in a cage that measured 12 feet by 12 feet.

Every day they would go out and feed the bear and give him water. Often times they would cover the cage to protect the bear from the elements but they never let him out of the cage.

Day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year the bear would walk 12 feet by 12 feet. This went on for several years until the bear grew too big for the cage. One day the people decided it was time to let the bear go free. They had done their best and now the bear was healed and big enough to care for himself.

They took the bear to a new beautiful, lush green forest and they opened the cage. After much prodding from the care takers the bear stepped out of the cage. With a view of endless beauty before him the bear took a deep breath and began to pace 12 feet by 12 feet.

You see, unknowingly the caretakers had conditioned the bear to believe he could only go 12 feet by 12 feet. Many of us have had caring parents or other family members who love us and do the best that they can to raise us to be productive citizens. The problem is most can't teach what they don't know.

We have been created by the Almighty to do amazing things but sadly we've been programmed to be average. Open your eyes to the many opportunities that are available and refuse to be the one who continues to go 12 feet by 12 feet.

Very profound and inspiring.......time to get rid of the 'cage mentality'
